Senior Editor - Chinese Books
The candidate will fill a key editorial position in the Chinese Books Department. Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, the candidate will be responsible for developing and editing Chinese books. Main duties include generating new ideas for titles, improving the content of books in process, coordinating the research, editorial and design input for publications, and overseeing the work of freelancers or packagers to ensure the quality of product meet company standard. He/she will also assist in planning and implementing market research programs to assess the marketability of books, and formulating publishing plans and strategies.
Apart from a thorough understanding of editorial procedures and a high proficiency in Chinese and English, this person must show editorial leadership and an entrepreneurial spirit in supporting the expansion of our book-publishing plan and markets. Proficiency in computer application is essential, while expertise in judging and evaluating art quality is desirable.
