Lingnan University - A New Era for Liberal Arts Education

Lingnan University is the only liberal arts institution in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. If offers honours bachelor degrees and postgraduate programmes up to doctoral level. Applications are invited for the following post:

The Public Affairs Office is the office through which the University conducts and coordinates its public affairs and external relations. The appointee will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of effective public relations strategies and programmes, and the day-to-day running of the Office. Specifically he/she is expected to formulate strategies and undertake close liaison with various parties within the University, other education institutions, the public and business sectors, and the media, at both the local and international levels, for promoting the University image and furthering the mission of the University. The appointee is required to provide strong leadership and coordination for the successful organization and launching of a wide range of events and publicity activities for the University. He/She will oversee the production of related University publications and promotional materials, and be responsible for the provision of secretarial support to various related committees.

Applicants should have a University degree, preferably in Journalism/ Communication. The ideal candidate should possess a substantial and successful record of professional excellence and proven managerial competence; established ties with the media, the local community and relevant overseas bodies; and extensive experience in corporate communications and in-house publications. He/She should demonstrate a strong interest in developments in the higher education sector and an appreciation of the special requirements of external relations management in the academia. A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, he/she should have an excellent command of both English and Chinese, and be self-driven, creative and able to work under pressure. Relevant working experience in higher education institutions will be a definite advantage.

Salary and Fringe Benefits:
The salary (currently under review) will range from around HK$57,000 to HK$74,000 per month. Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Substantial fringe benefits will also be provided.
