Using your quantitative expertise to develop effective marketing programmes

As one of the leading banking and financial services organisations in the world, HSBC offers a full range of personal financial services including personal banking, MPF options, investment, insurance and credit cards. To maintain our success, we are looking for two experienced marketing professionals to help us develop effective customer segmentation strategies and customer relationship management programmes in order to maximise our profitability and market share in the Asia-Pacific region.

Reporting to the Manager Customer Segmentation & Analysis, you will develop, enhance and implement the customer segmentation framework for Hong Kong and other Asia-Pacific countries. This will involve analysing the segmentation models in respective markets, managing external suppliers to ensure service quality and directing the integration of various segmentation output phases to enable business applications. Segment performance measuring, the design and development of segment based analysis, management information reporting and ongoing monitoring will be required. You will also conduct user acceptance testing and liaise with IT for system implementation according to business requirements. Working closely with other country teams, you wil facilitate the knowledge transfer to maintain the effectiveness in business application for segment output. Ref: B03006

For the position, you should ideally have a university degree in a quantitative science related discipline and six years' relevant experience with proven competence in programming using SAS, SQL, Access, Excel or other data mining tools. Equally important is hands-on experience in data manipulation and analysing, and exploiting information from a large database. Previous exposure to IBM utilities (TSO/ISPF, QMF) in an IBM MVS environment is a definite advantage. You should be skilled in various data mining and predictive modelling techniques such as clustering, multivariate analysis and classification models. A mature self-starter with good business sense and strong understanding of the personal banking market, you must possess excellent time and project management skills for handling multiple tasks and working under tight deadlines. Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication as well as negotiation skills together with strong personal motivation and drive are essential to your success.
