Our client is a UK listed specialty Chemicals Group. It is a truly global business and a world leader in several product categories. The organization currently has manufacturing operations spread throughout the Asia Pacific region with a notable commitment to expand in the China market, where they have already invested heavlty. To support the company's ambitions growth plans, a new position of Finance Director, Asia Pacific has been created, based in Shanghai and reporting functionally to the UK based Group Finance Director and adminstratively to a China based GM.
Specifically the role will encompass the following:
- Responsibility for all local reporting requirements, asset and risk management
- Ensuring optimal financial structure including funding, tax, currency and dividend flow
- Defining a finance strategy for the region that enhance and supports Group activity
- Assuming responsibility for financial aspects of al capital projects in the region
- Overseeing finance staff in various locations, ensuring the appropriate calibre to meet business needs
- Key contact for all relationships with third parties including banks, tax advisers, auditors, investment banks etc
To qualify you will meet the following criteria:
- Professionally qualified accountant with a minimum 12 years' multinational company experience
- Background in process manufacturing, chemicals company experience being advantageous
- In depth experience of operating in the China market with other regional exposure being desirable
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with business streams, group and external providers
- Make a significant contribution in an expanding business
- Fluency in Mandarin & English
