The Role
The position, which reports directly to the Golf Director, is to manage the Golf Services Department of the golf course. The challenge is to operate services and facilities for around 200,000 visitors per year by ensuring golfer behavior and safety on the two 18-hole golf courses, providing caddies for golfers, effectively operating a 70 bay Driving Range and running the golf equipment Hire Centre. Planning and implementation of all related staff training and financial controls are a heavy part of the workloard and require strong administration and management skills. The successful applicant will also be required to assist the Golf Director in developing, organizing and operating a growing schedule of open golf competitions for the public.
The Person
A post-secondary graduate with 5 years' administrative experience, good PC software skills and familiarity with operational management is needed. Preferably they would have worked in the leisure industry or at a golf club. Golf knowledge and a good understanding of golf rules and etiquette would aid any application. Excellent communication and interpersoanl skills are required to deal with customers who expected efficiency and transparency. The applicant must be clear and decisive with strong problem solving skills and the ability to react, adapt and follow up. A willingness to work staggered hours and on weekends and public holidays is required. An excellent command of English and Chinese is essential.
