Assistant Lending Services Manager

In a highly competitve corporate/commercial banking sector, Credit Risk Management (CRM) has a key role to promote portfolio quality and to balance risk and reward. the Lending Services Division (LSD) in CRM provides various services to departments within the Bank as well as external customers including recovery management, risk identification, collection services and financial advisory. We are seeking an experienced banking professional to join our Risk Identification team.

Reporting to Senior Lending Services Manager, you will review the Bank's corporate/ commercial lending portfolio with reference to predetermined filters and based on your industry knowledge/lending skills to identify early warming signs and potential risk on accounts. As you will analyse lending positions adn then provide proper advice/ recommendations to lending executives, you will also ensure that risks are thoroughly assessed in the credit proposals and monitor developments of accounts that have been identified as potentially problematic. Working closely with the frontline Relationship Managers, you will develop appropriate strategies on fixing problem accounts and maintain an effective relationship with them by providing value-added services. In addition, you will improve our credit policies and procedures and ensure compliance with the recommendations of internal/ external auditors and HKMA guidelines.

A degree holder with a minimum of five years' banking experience, preferably in commercial banking and trade finance, you must have good knowledge of lending skills. Ideally, your experience should include two years as a relationship manager/lending executive. Experience in conducting regular studies/reviews on specific industries/sectors and portfolio analysis is a definite advantage. A self-motivated and change oriented individual, you should be able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines as well as have profound persuasive skills, good language skills in written and spoken English and Chinese.
