IT Purchasing Manager Senior Role In IT Procurement Services |
|

As part of a global initiative to leverage the scale of our buying activities and achieve substantial cost efficiencies, we have restructured our purchasing functions and created this new role in our Hong Kong procurement function. IT represents the most significant proportion of our expenditure with external suppliers and you will lead and motivate a purchasing team focussing on the commercial and contractual aspects of professional procurement for a wide range of IT hardware and software products and services. Your management contribution to purchasing initiatives will extend beyond Hong Kong into Asia Pacific, ensuring that best value is delivered to the bank and that risk is minimised or mitigated through effective contractuand service level agreements.
In an environment of accelerating service provision you will have responsibility for negotiating purchases and contracts fo significant value. The key aspects of the role are the management and development of the IT purchasing team, IT supplier negotiation and management, delivering real value to internal customers and maintaining awareness of the IT market and legal/compliance issues.
With a university degree or equivalent in purchasing and supply management and membership of a registered professional institution, you must have at least eight years' experience in purchasing management, ideally across a broad range of products and services but including at least six years in IT procurement. A high level of IT terminology, are important. You must be an experienced and effective negotiator, able to maintain good relationships with external suppliers of products and services, as well as the internal colleagues to whom you are delivering those products and services.
