Entry Pay
$35,285 - $44,705 per moth; entry salary depends on experience
Entry Requirements:
Candidates must -
(a) (i) be solicitors admitted in a recognized jurisdiction as stipulated under the Legal Officers Ordinace and Schedule 1 to Legal Practitioners Ordiance; or (ii) be barristers with two years' professional experience since call to the Bar in a recognized jurisdiction as stipulated under the Legal Officers Ordinance and Schedule 1 to Legal Practitioners Ordinace;
(b) have attained Grade C or above in English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent; and
(c) have good comprehensive, analytical and research skills and be able to explain complicated issues in clear terms.
(Notes:
(a) Knowledge of and possession of experience in intellectual property law, litigation, corporate and commercial law, proficiency in Chinese language and knowledge in information technology will be advantages; and
(b) Candidates will be required to take a written test.)
Duties
Mainly deployed on legal work such as legal advisory work and legal research on intellectual property matters, conducting hearings and handing down written descisions, administration of the Trade Marks Ordinance, Patents Ordiance, Registered Designs Ordinance adn Copyright Ordinance, and promotion and public education on protection of intellectual property rights.
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on one year non-civil service contract terms.
