Job Desc:
The Singapore Conservatory of Music of the National University of Singapore is seeking an internationally recognized artist/teacher of piano to join its faculty. This is a full-time position. Nominees and applicants should have significant performance experience as an orchestral player, soloist and/or chamber musician and the desire and experience to teach gifted undergraduate students. Participation in the artistic life of Singapore and the region is also expected. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selection process will begin on July 20, 2002 and continue until the position is filled. Appointment to commence in July 2003.
The Singapore Conservatory of Music (SCM) is a collaboration between the National University of Singapore and the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the first such collaboration between a top American conservatory and a leading university in the Asia Pacific. The SCM will offer the BM degree in performance and composition with a programme comparable to those of other major conservatories around the world. The common language of Singapore is English.
