TEACHING CONSULTANT IN CHEMISTRY/SCIENCE EDUCATION (Ref.: RF-2001/2002-389)

Job Desc:
Applicants should have a relevant good honours degree, preferably a relevant higher degree; a professional teaching qualification and at least 5 years' relevant teaching experience in local secondary schools. Familiarity with curriculum and pedagogical development in science education in general and chemistry education in particular, is essential. The appointees will be responsible for teaching science/chemistry methods courses, and for practicum supervision. They will also be encouraged to pursue higher degree studies and contribute to research projects. In addition, the appointees will contribute to the Faculty's initiatives in enhancing relationship with schools and assist in administrative work.


Monthly salary [attracting contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary] is on a 7-point scale (which is subject to review from time to time in accordance with the University's established mechanism), with starting salary depending on qualifications and experience: HK$35,325 - 55,020.

The appointments carry leave, medical/dental benefits, and, where appropriate, a taxable financial subsidy under the Home Financing Scheme for reimbursing either the actual rental payment or the mortgage repayment up to the relevant maximum entitlement.
