CHEMICAL ANALYST

NON-CIVIL SERVICE VACANCIES
GOVERNMENT LABORATORY
(Salary : HK$ 26,000 per month)
Entry Requirements : (a) have a good honours degree (1st or 2nd class honours) in Chemistry from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent (Note : Candidates without a Master Degree or above should have taken Chemistry as a major subject for the Bachelor Degree i.e. with 2/3 of the total number of units or papers taken in Chemistry); and (i) two years' relevant post- graduate experience; or (ii) a Master Degree in Chemistry from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; and (b) Grade E or above in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent.

Duties : Conduct scientific, analytical and investigative work and supervise and train staff in the Analytical & Advisory Services Division.



Notes : Suitable candidates without an acceptable local qualification in Chinese Language may also apply. Such candidates may be required to pass an appropriate language proficiency test conducted by the Civil Service Examinations Unit before they can be offered appointment.

Terms of Appointment : Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.

Fringe Benefits : Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.
The appointees will be subject to the provisions of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance and will be required to make employee's contributions to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme.
