Job Desc:
Requirements: A recognized first degree plus a post-graduate qualification in Librarianship or Information Science (M.L.S. or A.L.A.); a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience is required for the post of Assistant Librarian II; solid programming experience in web-based applications (HTML, XML, JavaScript); experience in in-house developments with PerlScript, CGI, PHP, and the handling of metadata is essential; proficiency in Visual Basic, MS ACCESS 2000 and FoxPro programming is required; a strong technical background in all versions of Windows OS, including NT and XP, Novell Netware systems in a UNIX environment is also required; experience in managing the INNOPAC library system is a must.
Monthly Salary and Conditions of Service
Assistant Librarian II : HK$32,955 - $47,590
Probationary Assistant Librarian : HK$30,100 - $31,520
Appointment will be made on contract terms for a period of two years with a contract-end gratuity calculated at 15% of the total basic salary earned during the entire contract period less the contribution made by the Institute to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme as required by the MPF Scheme Ordinance. Other benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits, where appropriate. The Institute reserves the right to offer appointment on different terms.
