Job Desc:
possess a relevant Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology, strong research and teaching records in clinical psychology, and extensive experience in managing taught professional programmes. The appointee will be responsible for developing research and teaching programmes in clinical psychology. In addition, the appointee will be the manager of the M.Soc.Sc. (Clinical Psychology) programme, and be responsible for directing and developing postgraduate programmes in clinical psychology. Familiarity with the local community and Chinese culture is preferable but not necessary. Closes August 31, 2002.

For posts Post-Doctoral Fellow, applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, in cognitive psychology/engineering psychology/human computer interaction for post (i); and in cognitive psychology/cognitive psychophysiology/cognitive neuroscience for post (ii), or related fields. They should ideally have a background in one of the following areas: information processing, attention, and language; or for post (i) applied cognitive psychology, engineering psychology and human computer interaction; or for post (ii), psychophysiological methods and brain imaging. For post (i), the appointee is expected to teach courses at introductory/advanced levels in the relevant areas, supervise undergraduate research theses, primarily carry out research in the above areas and join other research groups. For post (ii), the appointee is expected to teach "Introductory Psychology", coordinate the course on "Introduction to Cognitive Science", and supervise some undergraduate research theses. Monthly salaries [for posts Professor/Associate Professor in Clinical Psycology, attracting contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary] are on the following scales (which are subject to review from time to time in accordance with the University's established mechanism), with starting salary depending on qualifications and experience:

Professor (in the grade of Reader) : HK$78,605 - 104,430 (9 points)

Associate Professor (in the grade of Senior Lecturer): HK$75,345 - 101,215 (9 points)

Post-doctoral Fellow : HK$31,520 - 41,465 (4 points)*
