ASSISTANT LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR (POST REF.: 0223/ELEAC/ALI)

ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION AND ASSESSMENT CENTRE
The appointee will be required to teach credit-bearing English language courses, provide language consultations and workshops, and assist with other functional areas in the Centre, e.g. the development of teaching materials.

Applicants must have a native or near native mastery of English, a relevant postgraduate degree, and at least three years' relevant experience in ESL teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with a TESL/TEFL teaching qualification and experience in teaching Chinese students. Practical experience in one or more of the fields of language assessment, materials development, self-access learning, and use of IT in learning would be a decided advantage. The appointment will be on a one-year fixed-term basis, tenable from 16 August 2002. Re-engagement thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Monthly Salary Range (under review) and Fringe Benefits:

Assistant Language Instructor : HK$22,600 - HK$27,445

The commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include medical and dental schemes, annual leave, MPF benefit and, if applicable, gratuity.
