Job Desc:
The Department of Cultural Studies offers the only BA (Hons) Cultural Studies in the region with a strong interdisciplinary orientation. It also contributes to the teaching of the General Education programme and the Associate Degree in Arts provided by the University. It is now looking for an Assistant Teaching Fellow for 12 months, tenable from 16 August 2002. The appointment may be renewable subject to the availability of funding.
Applicants should hold a higher degree in a relevant field of study. The appointee is expected to have a solid background in Cultural Studies and good record of teaching effectiveness. She/he must be able to teach three or more of the following courses: Introduction to Contemporary Cultural Studies, Identity and Public Culture, Global Culture, Media Culture, Narrating Hong Kong, Cultural Politics of Reading, Critical Writing Workshop, Social and Cultural Anthropology, and Topics in Cultural Theory. Some experience in teaching development at the undergraduate level is preferred, as the job will include relevant assignments in support of the delivery of courses offered by the Department.
Monthly Salary Range (under review) and Fringe Benefits:
Assistant Teaching Fellow : HK$22,600 - HK$27,445
The commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include medical and dental schemes, annual leave, MPF benefit and, if applicable, gratuity.
