Salary : HK$35,285 - HK$55,000 per month; salary depends on experience - see General Note(F))
Entry Requirements : (a) MHKIE (Civil Discipline) elected after 5.12.75, or equivalent; and (b) have Grade E or above in the English Language (Syllabus B) and the Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent (See General Note (E)). Notes: (i) In their application forms, candidates should attach a detailed account of their experience; otherwise, their applications will not be considered further; (ii) applications from engineers with additional qualifications or experience in information technology/systems, traffic engineering and transport planning will be given preference.
Duties : Successful applicants will be posted to one of the above departments. They are involved in a wide range of activities, including the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of civil engineering works, the management of consultants, and the administration of contracts. The duties of Engineers in the Transport Department include the conduct of transport planning studies, the design and the implementation of traffic engineering schemes, road safety measures and traffic control systems.
Terms of Appointment : Successful candidates will be appointed on two years non-civil service contract terms.
Fringe Benefits : A gratuity equivalent to 15% of the total basic salary drawn may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed. Rest days, statutory holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.
