(Salary: HK$28,075 per month)
Entry Requirement: (a) A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Management Studies, Natural Science or a related subject from a Hong Kong Polytechnic/Polytechnic University/HKIVE or Technical College/Institute, or equivalent; (b) an acceptable Diploma from an agricultural forestry school or college, or equivalent; and one year's practical experience in country/flora/wildlife management; (c) Grade E or above in Chinese Language and in English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination; (d) minimum four years' relevant working experience in horticultural or landscaping field; (e) minimum one year's relevant experience in contract management; and (f) sound computer knowledge including Excel, Word, Corel Draw and Photoshop. [Candidates with less experience may also be considered, and if selected, the salary will be adjusted as appropriate.]
Duties: (a) To assist on matters concerning landscape works implementation and management, the organization and implementation of field surveys; (b) to assist in the execution of research and experimental work in relation to plant data, planting techniques and reinstatement of degraded land; (c) to assist in the supervision of the Term Contractor for minor landscape works or any other contractor as appropriate; and (d) to provide daily reports on progress of works on site and to make recommendations on the need for site instruction, requirements for plant maintenance/ establishment works, etc.
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of 12 months.
Fringe benefits: A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to an MPF Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Paid annual leave of 12 days, rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave, paid sick leave, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.
