Job Desc:
Entry pay : HK$50,365 per month
Entry Requirements : (a)(i) a Hong Kong degree in transport studies, town planning, urban planning, economics, civil engineering, environmental studies, business studies, public administration, geography or sociology, or equivalent; & (ii) have corporate membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport; & (b) have 7 years of experience in one or more of the following- (i) route planning and traffic operation of a public transport undertaking; (ii) transport facilities management; (iii) rail/tunnel/bridge management; (iv) transport policy, planning and research; (v) transport information system planning and management; or (vi) land use/transport planning studies; & (c) grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE, or equivalent; and (d) fluent Cantonese.
(Note: (a) Candidates should state clearly in the application details of academic qualifications with copies of relevant certificates and official transcripts of studies attached to the application; (b) applications which are incomplete or without supporting documents will not be considered; (c) photocopies of supporting documents will not be returned to applicants; and (d) Candidates with a degree in Geography and Sociology should have studied at least 1/4 of the total number of papers or credit units in relevant subjects in order to qualify for appointment.)
Duties : Mainly deployed on - (a) plan, administer, monitor, analyze and review operations of public transport services and facilities; (b) evaluate operational/financial data; (c) handle traffic and transport emergencies; (d) conduct tender exercises and evaluate tender submissions; (e) approve road permits and other statutory notices in connection with road traffic arrangements; (f) evaluate and review the effectiveness of new traffic control and management techniques; (g) formulate and review transport laws and policies and enforce Road Traffic Ordinance and Regulations; (h) attend District Councils and other advisory committee meetings and prepare draft committee papers; and (i) monitor transport consultant studies.
