The U.S. Consulate General seeks applicants for employment as a full-time Chinese-English translator. Applicants must be able to translate Chinese- language press articles into grammatically correct, idiomatic English. Knowledge of international affairs and word-processing ability in English are necessary. Mandarin skills and familiarity with the Internet are desirable. Must be willing to work occasionally on weekends or holidays. Starting salary dependent on training/experience. Position is also open to U.S. citizens. Fringe benefits include annual/sick leave, medical/life insurance, year-end bonus and provident fund. Opportunities for advancement exist.
