We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer redæ„€ engineering department in Hong Kong.
You will use your engineering expertise to bring design thinking to life as an integral member of our multi-disciplinary design team that is based in Germany.
You will form an extension of our think tank to make product visions become real. The work is between desk, CAD and workshop for testing and improving until perfection.
Along the way, you will find clever, creative solutions to problems. You will design mechanisms, individual parts, and architect out how the appliance works. You will engage with manufacturers to accompany the prototypes to series looking for quality and cost.
Manufacturing processes like injection molding, die casting, compression molding, sheet metal, extrusions, surface finishing, etc. is mandatory.
Requirements:
Deep engineering expertise (4+years) stewarding innovations from concept through launch, or analyzing and solving complex problems.
A background in materials science and manufacturing with strong skills in rapid prototyping.
An understanding of the way manufacturing works from a strategic perspective. Experience figuring out how to build products and components faster and cheaper within given manufacturing parameters.
An inspiring engineering thinker and doer who works well with individuals of varying (i.e., non-engineering) backgrounds.
A good visual and verbal communicator who can explain complex technical concepts simply and clearly to clients and fellow team members.
A love of creating looks-like/works-like prototypes and have relevant skills such as fluency in 3D CAD Solid Works, basic skills in interactive electronic prototyping, good shop skills etc.
Electrical and electronics experience a plus.
Hold a bachelors or masteræ„€ degree in an engineering or related field or have equivalent professional experience.
Proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferable.
